O ever living and loving God,
You are the source of all holiness,
And the work of your hands is manifest in your saints.

 

In these times of change and challenge,
We seek a patron saint
Who will inspire us by example,
Intercede for us before your throne,
And stand ready to defend us in our trials.

 

By your grace, direct our thoughts
And help us to choose wisely a patron.
Give us the insight to seek the virtues we need most
In the Archdiocese of Detroit.

 

We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son,
Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, for ever and ever.
